Marsh Radio Island is being developed specifically to address challenges faced by the urban port city of Boston, its neighborhoods and ecosystems, due to the increasing phenomena of climate change.  We have followed research conducted by organizations like the Boston Harbor Association and the City of Boston, which sought to understand the potential impacts of climate change, including ever higher tides, sea level rise, increasing extreme storm events, etc.  As we were developing the project Marsh Radio Island, we watched in shock while Hurricane Sandy ravaged New York and New Jersey, and followed scientists clear association of the severity of the storm to climate change.  We seek to help our communities feel engaged with the possible city scale engineering and ecosystem design solutions being discussed at this time.
